The average woman offers about 400 eggs for fertilization in her lifetime. Unless it is fertilized, a living egg is lost during each menstrual period throughout the woman's life. Therefore, each female is born with the capability of creating 400 precious lives, but each of the unfertilized eggs are, in turn, ejected from the body.

The figures for males are even more horrifying. Suppose a man has 3 ejaculations per week. This equals 156 ejaculations per year, and there are 3 million LIVING sperm in an average ejaculation. This means that 46.8 BILLION living sperm are killed and discarded EACH YEAR by a sexually active man.

No one wants to see this waste of human life, but obviously humans would overpopulate the Earth if all of these eggs and sperm were allowed to acheive their potential lives.
