HAZEL GRAVEEN SURVIVES A BRAIN ANEURYSM. My mother, Hazel Graveen, age 89, suffered a brain aneurysm in the middle of the night, at the end of January, in Northern Wisconsin. She lay on the floor for 15 hours before her son-in-law Jack came over to snow plow her driveway. The Doctors in Antigo couldn't help her and didn't expect her to live through the night. They sent her by ambulance to the hospital in Wausau, and the doctors there also didn't think she would make it through the night. As the family of sisters, daughters, and grandchildren gathered at the hospital the next morning to say good-by, they found Mother sitting up in bed eating breakfast. She recovered fully and after 6 weeks in the nursing home, was able to return home.
